Engaging spirit. Being church in the world.
These are values we hold. They name both an inward and an outward focus – moving us both deeper and broader. We believe this is a part of our becoming even more vibrant, meaningful and spiritually powerful as a community.
Engaging spirit. Our worship regularly has people speaking openly their prayers of joy, excitement, pain, and longing. The diverse and festive music in our worship makes our prayers and participation deeper. Powerful preaching draws us both inward toward spirit and outward toward the vibrancy and intangibles of the world around us. Innovative and new as well as traditional and meaningful rituals make our worship creative, embodied and spiritually relevant.
Being church in the world. Church isn’t just an hour of escape from everything else. Ideally, our participation in worship feeds our participation in community and in the wider world. We talk about ancient texts but put them into conversation with contemporary ideas. We look at and think about the real world that we’re living in. And we gather with the firm conviction that feeding our souls should help us be in the world with greater presence, courage, and grace.
We’d love to have you join us in this. The life of the spirit might include solitude, but it is not solitary. We grow together.
